The tour starts with a drive along the coast, past Clifton, Camps Bay and Llandadno to Hout Bay. In Hout Bay there is time to explore the harbour area before driving along the scenically spectacular Chapmans Peak Drive (if open) before arriving at Cape Point, a nature reserve within the Table Mountain National Park and a declared Natural World Heritage site. The coastline stretches for almost 40 kilometres of Southern Africa’s most dramatic scenery, including the famous promontory of the Cape of Good Hope where we stop and, weather permitting, there is the option to stretch the legs and walk to the lighthouse or to take the Cape Point Funicular. At just under 8000 hectares the reserve abounds with around 250 species of birds, buck, baboons, mountain zebra and spectacular scenery. Definitely an unforgettable excursion. Lunch is en-route for your own expense and in the afternoon travel back towards Cape Town via Simonstown with a stop at the unique and endangered land-based colony of African Penguins at Boulders Beach. To conclude a memorable day the tour ends with a visit to the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens magnificently situated on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain. World-renowned for the beauty and diversity of the Cape flora displayed there. There is time to enjoy the scenery, to visit the informative visitors center and the retail area before the tour ends back in Cape Town.
