Travel via Gordons Bay, Rooi Els and Bettys Bay, a scenically spectacular coastline, to Hermanus – the “Whale Capital of the World”. Great opportunities to view Southern Right Whales – June to December – from the cliff top path that runs along the coastline at the edge of the town (not guaranteed!) or to visit some of the many craft shops in the town. Lunch in Hermanus or en-route is for your own expense and in the afternoon travel back to Cape Town via the winelands with time to stop in at one of the many estates in the region for a cellar tour and wine tasting. Also time to wander around the historic town of Stellenbosch and to visit the traditional trading store (Oom Samie se Winkel), a curio shop or an art gallery before the journey back to Cape Town.
